Otto Puempel, D.O.

Dr Otto Puempel began practicing Family Medicine in a small office in central Arlington in 1963. He quickly saw a need in the medical field that had yet to be explored and streamlined his focus and commitment into the specialty of Obesity Medicine, also often called Bariatrics. Dr. Puempel has a passion for helping patients return to healthy living and remarks often that his patients teach him far more than he teaches them and enjoys visiting with some who still drop by just to catch up. Dr. Puempel soon realized there were more patients who needed help than he had time to give, so he expanded into a multi-site clinic with numerous physicians and practitioners to further the practice. Today, his son, Christopher Puempel, MD joins him in providing a safe, nurturing atmosphere for patients to get the assistance they need while continuously researching and exploring the latest treatment protocols and therapies to best meet the individual need of the patient.

Dr. Chris Puempel, MD

After completion of my Family Medicine Residency at Methodist Hospitals of Dallas in 2005, I
joined my father in medical practice here at Physicians Weight Control and Wellness. I am
board certified in both Bariatric Medicine and Anti-Aging medicine. I am committed to continuing
the standard that has been set by Dr Otto of compassionate, individualized care. It is my belief
that true health and best quality of life is a balance of physical, mental, and spiritual health. I
strive to incorporate that belief in my patient care and counseling.

Dr. Dale Allen, MD

After many years of private practice as an Orthopedic Surgeon in the Arlington/Grand Prairie area I decided to retire. Realizing I still wanted to continue working. I joined the team of physicians at Physician’s Weight Control and Wellness in May 2007. I work two days at our Arlington office and one at our Waco office.

Karen D. Morgan, APRN-BC

I have been with the practice since 2016. I love my job helping patients chose healthy eating plans and lose weight. I am married with two grown daughters and four grandchildren who will all be in college in the fall. I love to travel, read and play with my four dogs.

Lindsey Britten MPAS,PA-C

As a ballet dancer growing up, I developed a strong interest in nutrition and healthy living, as I had to stay in top shape. Therefore, I decided to pursue a degree in nutrition science and dietetics. After graduating from the University of Nebraska, I attended Physician Assistant school in hopes of incorporating more nutrition based treatments in medical practice. Fortunately, almost 4 years ago, I found my way to PWCWC and have greatly enjoyed leading patients into living more healthful lifestyles. I have also been certified in Botox and facial fillers, helping our patients complete the transformation. I truly believe that a healthy outside starts from the inside.

Amy Johnson

Practice Manager
I have managed the Physician Weight Control clinics for over 30 years and have witnessed the practice grow from a small, “one Doctor, one girl” operation into a three office, multi-practitioner company. The beauty of the evolution is that even as the practice expanded and staff was added, the principle philosophy of Dr. Otto Puempel remained, that of treating the patients and staff with respect and compassion. His passion for his bariatric specialty is contagious and he has, by example, directed the atmosphere of the clinics to remain that rare medical facility where one can go and still feel like there is a Doctor who listens, understands, and finds innovative solutions for each patient individually. I have been fortunate to be the team member who facilitates the logistics of operating and maintaining this medical clinic to ensure our patients a safe and successful experience.

Business Manager
I retired in July 2006 from an aircraft manufacturing plant in Dallas. In August 2006 I started my new career at Physician’s Weight Control. Since I work in the business office I don’t have one on one contact with our patients but I can hear them when they come in and they all seem to enjoy their visits here. When patients come in I can hear the laughter and the correspondence between the staff and patients. The whole staff makes them feel welcome and lets them know we really care about the weight loss journey they’re on. I have known the Puempel family since the mid-60’s and feel honored to work here.

Bariatric Assistant
My name is Brittney and I have been with the Physicians Weight Control Centers for almost 4 years. I have worked in the Dallas office in multiple positions for the past few years which has been a rewarding experience. I recently transferred to the Arlington location full-time as a Bariatric Assistant. I have been blessed to experience, along with our patients, a conversion to a positive healthy lifestyle approach by applying the steps that the doctors have recommended with amazing results from hard work and dedication. It is a huge reward to see the priceless smiles and happiness from each of our patients.

CMA / Front Office Coordinator
I have been a Certified Medical Assistant with Physician’s Weight Control since 2007. My main focus is running the front office efficiently. My flexibility allows me to move around the office where needed. It feels like family here. I love the relationships I develop with patients and staff. We talk about their loved ones and life experiences. It’s a joy to be part of their journey. I am married with two beautiful children. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and home improvement projects.
